Doug fought a difficult and silent battle.  Since 2017, Doug’s Ride for Men’s Wellness has raised thousands of dollars in honour of Doug and in support of breaking the silence stigma with men’s mental health.

Historically this has been a motorcycle ride and BBQ in Southern Alberta.  Due to COVID 19 restrictions, some will still ride, however the fundraising portion will be on line via Go Fund Me.

Legacy Place Society continues to be the designated charity of choice.  The men in uniform – Law Enforcement, Emergency Medical/Fire Services, 911 Dispatch, Veterans and Military Personnel, experience and encounter horrific situations due to the nature of their profession.  The sights, sounds and carnage are difficult to understand and become accumulated trauma stuck in their minds.

Funds raised will support initiatives of Legacy Place Society in the initiatives associated to suicide awareness, peer support and activities that bring conversation of hope for those men who may be stuck or uncertain of how to be set free from the grip of circumstances.
